7X4-middle Dots Muggulu or Kolam Designs

Easy 7×4 Middle Dots Rangoli Simple Step-by-Step Guide

If you love making neat and quick rangoli designs, the 7×4 middle dots rangoli is perfect for you. It looks elegant, fits well in small spaces, and is very easy for beginners.

What is a 7×4 Middle Dots Rangoli

In this pattern:

  • The middle row has 7 dots

  • Place a Dot between two dots , next row has 6 dots

  • Place a Dot between two dots , next row has 5 dots

  • Place a Dot between two dots ,next row has 4 dots

  • Then the rows reduce evenly on both sides:

This is called the 7×4 middle dots pattern because the widest row has 7 dots and the narrowest rows have 4 dots.

Step 1: Draw the Dot Pattern

First, place the dots exactly like the pattern shown above. Keep the spacing equal so your rangoli looks clean and balanced.

Step 2: Create the Outer Curves

Start joining the outer dots using smooth curved lines.

  • Move from one dot to the next in a flowing motion.

  • Create petal like loops on all sides.

  • This will form a beautiful flower-shaped border.

Step 3: Design the Center

At the middle 7-dot row:

  • Draw crossing lines to form a small diamond or “X” shape.

  • Add tiny leaves or drops on each arm of the cross.

This becomes the main focus of your rangoli.

Step 4: Fill the Side Spaces

Between the curves:

  • Add small petals, butterflies, or loop designs.

  • Keep everything symmetrical on both sides so the design stays balanced.

Step 5: Add Final Details

  • Place tiny dots inside petals.

  • Draw spirals or stars in empty corners.

  • Outline the full design neatly.

Coloring Ideas

For a bright festive look:

  • Use pink or blue for the main outline

  • Fill petals with yellow, green, and orange

  • Add white powder highlights for a professional finish

  • Very easy for beginners

  • Takes less than 10 minutes

  • Perfect for doorsteps, pooja rooms, and small spaces

  • Looks elegant even without heavy coloring

This 7×4 middle dots rangoli is simple, quick, and always looks graceful. Try it daily or during festivals to add a traditional charm to your home.
